Agave tequilana lemeño

We planted lemeño, a hybrid of Agave tequiliana weber azul, and spaced them in the same configuration. After three years, we observed that they are slightly smaller but more frost tolerant. We haven’t seen the same level of leaf burn from winter frosts. I personally like these plants and I’m curious to see what kind of spirit they might produce. When I shared pictures of this variety with my friends in Mexico, they all identified it as Espadin. We’ll have to wait and see how long it takes for them to flower and what their brix levels and flavor attributes are. Lemeño produces clones and will likely be smaller than Weber at harvest, but it should mature at about the same time
